Trailer Maintenance

  • Several small maintenance items and regular checks, can greatly extend the life and serviceability of your Rolls Rite trailer.
  • Maintaining proper tire pressure greatly reduces wear, increases mileage, and improves load capacities.
  • Torque lug nuts regularly to decrease wobble, preclude wearing out lug holes in wheels, and insure that wheels do not pass you in route.
  • Check grease fittings and keep grease from drying, or overheating necessary parts.
  • Check your jack handles to prevent loose connections, and check your jack foot/feet to make sure they are not bent, or down when driving.
  • Cross your chains to the towing vehicle, and if they are too close to the ground, give them a couple of twists to raise them.
  • Make sure your trailer plug matches the towing vehicle, and that it is securely connected and all lights and brakes are operating properly.

Check that there are no unsecured items on the trailer deck, and that all equipment, tools, and supplies are secured with chains, straps, or safely stored in locked tool boxes or chain trays.

Before towing, please insure that you have proper licenses, permits, tags, and safety features, and that you have checked to make sure that loads are within proper carrying capacities, and safely secured.
